In Light of Everything

By societal standards, Laura has it all; a handsome, wealthy husband, a beautiful, healthy young boy, and a historic home on the prestigious Charleston peninsula. But something is gravely wrong in her life and on the eve of her 43rd birthday, the same age her grandmother, Eleanor Kealy, died, Laura finds herself uncovering the hidden story of her grandmother at the same time her own marriage starts collapsing. The more Laura uncovers, the more she fears she’s destined to repeat her grandmother’s past—unless she can break the cycle and rewrite a new narrative to save her life.

Woven between Laura’s story is Eleanor’s, a 1950’s painter who became famous posthumously and suffered in an abusive marriage, and her mother, Margaret's, a woman who gave up her career to tend to the family she never had. What begins as a search for self-discovery, becomes an unraveling of generational wounds.

Set between the Lowcountry of Charleston, South Carolina and the isolating landscape of modern motherhood, this novel explores how far emotional trauma can reverberate through generations, and what it takes to finally rewrite the story.
